Together with my partner Xavier de Bode I created this eco-lodge. As I was pregnant at the time, actually he and the local builders from the valley did most of the work.
The eco-lodge was created on top of an an existing toolshed built in traditional local clay bricks. The old toolshed now serves as a bedroom on the ground floor of the building. The eco-lodge is built mainly out of local sustainable materials. On the ground floor, the eco-lodge has a simple bathroom, kitchen, two double bedrooms and verandas on both sides of the building. The first floor offers a big multifunctional living space, with a wooden roof structure, filled in with local ‘buriti’ walls.
