So proud of Galeria Index realizing this poetic booth at FBAC artfair in Brasilia in the middle of producing the opening of my exhibition at Museu Nacional da Republica next week. Happy to present a sneek-peek of next week, besides the beautiful work of Bruna Sperling, Marcelo Sola, Alberto Lamback, Azul, Kom Martins and Pedro Lacerda.

Solo exhibition ‘Esférica’/Nurturing Spheres won the open call by the Dutch Embassy in Brasil on the subject of ‘Habitable Spaces’. As the exhibition focuses on the question how to make our environment more nurturing for people and planet, it was the perfect match with the theme of this open call. The support of the embassy has been crucial in realizing both the exhibition and the opening.

For the fifth edition of the group exhibition ‘Circular na Praça’, initiated by Farah Service, on Praça Adolpho Bloch, a park in the hart of São Paulo, Brazil, curator Marc Pottier invited artists to re-interpret Neo Concretism.

Acompanied by Kura Arte in Sao Paulo, Janet Vollebregt created the installation ‘Tree Talismans’ for this exhibition.

The Installation Love Hurts consists of two wall totems in brass and rose quartz. The totems are symbols of love and protection. At the same time, they are spears with slices of rose quartz ‘meat’. The works invite us to question what we take from the earth. What nurtures us can imply a sacrifice elsewhere. Are we conscious of that? Should we consume or not? Are we giving something back to the earth?

The exhibition addresses transformation of material, space and its visitors. My work is shown together with the works of artists Judith Bloedjes, Rob Wouters, Emma van Noort en Albert Roskam.

Art-Science workshop: Beyond Science, Health and Art, the role of Empathy and Intuition in Healthcare and Museums organised by Museum de Lakenhal, Leiden, Netherlands and Lorenz Centre Leiden

The Dutch Museum of Ethnology, Museum Volkenkunde, dedicated an exposition to the subject ‘Helende Kracht’ or ‘Healing Force’. I have contributed with a lecture on ‘Nurturing Space’. My totems and pendant installation were exposed in a dedicated room in the museum.

During the opening of the Exposition ‘Nurturing Space’ at Marksteeg 10, Roger Busschots made this filmed interview. The interview is part of a series called “Leiden op de Kaart”. The series adresses art and culture in Leiden and was shown at Museum the Lakenhal in October 2019.

During the exposition Nurturing Space, held at Marksteeg 10 in Leiden, Netherlands we had a pleasure to organise an Avaita Satsang with Jan van den Oever on July 8, 2019.

Thank you Isadora Campos for the lovely article on Casa Alto Paraiso in GPSLifetime. This issue of GPSLifetime is addressing 100 years of Bauhaus and the 59th anniversary on Brasilia. Casa Alto Paraiso is in good company, concerning content.

With material that was saved during the restauration of the old roman bath house, I created 4 panels that individually can be seen as abstract artworks and can be exposed in any position. Only when the 4 panels, are placed together in the right position, together they form the image of Lucius, the Roman potter whose work was found at the location of the Thermen Museum. The necessity of placing the ‘pieces’ of the artwork together in a certain way to see the larger picture refers to the work of the archeologists on site.

rom 2006 until 2016 I have mainly been creating and working in Brasil. My exposition at Moon Yoga Studio in Bergen NH, the Netherlands can be seen a ‘welcome back on this side of the Atlantic’ exposition. I created new series of Art.Chi.Textures, as most of my earlier work made in Brasil remains in Brasil. I found it interesting to present my Art.Chi.Textures first in a Yoga Studio, where people address the concepts ‘consciousness’ and ‘energy flow’, instead of a gallery.

Pepalito65 (www.pepalito.com.br) is an internationally renowned leader in brasilian and international 20th century collectors furtinure and objects . I was enlightened Pepalito65 invited me to provide the art for their booth in ArtRio 2016.
